Disconnect From the World

There is a great need for one needing to disconnect from social media. Looking up and appreciating the world around you helps inspire creativity and gives one time to reflect upon everything that's going on in the world around them. It's crucial for me not to be continuously connected because I need to find inspiration for how to improve my #mentalhealth.

A good outlook on mental health is essential in everyone's life. Being continuously connected is time-consuming and does not give one time to focus on themselves. If someone has been in a stressful situation, they should #disconnect from #socialmedia and focus on themselves and what they need to do to pursue help.

Being able to disconnect improves one's productivity. One who is always on their phone does not get as much work done, and they have a shorter attention span. Studies have shown that the human attention span is now about 8.25 seconds long. Because of technology, we have shortened our attention span and want everything instantaneously. It also causes those to feel anxious when their phone is not nearby. Being able to disconnect helps widen one's attention span, eases their anxiety, and improves their productivity.

Here’s a #challenge for all of you today. Shut your phone off for an hour, take a look around and do something creative. You can draw, paint, make something, or even stare at the clouds and see if you can make out any shapes. Disconnect and do something creative today!

Comment on what you did to disconnect and what you created. Have fun everyone! Thanks for reading!
